Flocks of birds are not thinned out during growth, i.e. the flock stays together from day-old chicks until slaughter. Thinning causes additional stress to birds. Not thinning flocks of birds reduces the risk of infection and spread of animal diseases and, at the same time, the risk of human disease.

Most of the feed used is domestic grain, if the harvest season allows. The grain comes partly from the same contract farms where the chickens grow, partly from other farms in the surrounding area.
All feed soy used is third-party certified. Certifications are sustainability certifications for soy growing that aim to reduce environmental impacts, such as deforestation.

Chickens eat mainly domestic grain. 77% of the feed is domestic oats and wheat. In addition, 14% of the feed consists of rapeseed, peas, fava beans, vegetable oil, as well as vitamins and minerals.
9% of the feed is soy. All feed soy used is certified by a third party. Certifications are sustainability certifications for soy growing that aim to reduce environmental impacts, such as deforestation.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE IMPACTS

The carbon footprint has been calculated for all products except minced meat. The calculation takes into account the carbon footprint of production from the field to the production plant.
On average, chicken meat is the lowest-carbon meat product. The calculation of the carbon footprint is the starting point for setting targets for the climate emissions of operations and targeting measures to reduce emissions correctly.

The calculation also includes the climate impact caused by land use change in feed production.
